Fpp photoflow7/9/2023 When you hang the film up to dry, attach a clip to the end of the roll. I get a little curl with my fuji neopan 100. But I find that ilford and Kodak don't curl much. I don't use Rollei or Lucky films anymore just because of the wicked curl. Not what you want to hear, but I buy film that doesn't curl. With the Lomography ones it can be tricky to get the negs in there flat. They work pretty good but I think I'm going to try the ones. Putting them in print file sleeves and sandwiching them between books like you did will work, but you gotta leave them there for a long time before it makes much of a difference.įor scanning I've been using the Lomography Digitaliza for both 35 and 120. the holder with the ANR glass makes it much easier and gives a little nicer result I think. I have the same problem with those epson holders. Getting that bowed, "tube" rolling fixed isn't easy to do reliably in my experience. Of course, once you've cut it that's not as helpful, although I have reverse rolled cut film after placing it in a Print File sheet. This is a bit too late to help with that roll, but I've been able to undo lengthwise curling on really old 120 film to a large degree, and widthwise (that's not a word, it seems) to a modest extent., by rolling the film in reverse PRIOR to cutting and letting it stay in that state overnight. Buy one and you're guaranteed a flat negative and a good scan. The Better Scanning neg holders mentioned above are excellent. The Epson 120 film holders are worthless. Though if able, I buy film that I know will not curl too much The best way possible is to use heavy books, ample amount of time and the forces of gravity to flatten things out = )īut I sleeve it, and leave it under a heavy heavy book for a few days Is there a way to flatten film negatives? Because the film wants to curl it fights with you when getitng it in the mask. It's really hard to scan 120 film with epson's scanning mask. I sandwiched them in between two books thinking it might flatten the negative out. The film tends to bend (like a tube, not roll back up). I developed some 120 rolls today, cut them into 3 frame strips for scanning.
